Matthew's painting Unbekannte Burger 4 (Unknown Citizen 4) has been shortlisted for the Redland Art Award. Opening night is the 6th of November at Redland Art Gallery, Cleveland. Scroll down to 26/02/2010 to see a photograph of the painting in progress in the Berlin studio.

Matthew is a finalist in the Eutick Memorial Still Life Award at Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery. The exhibition opens on Friday the 12th of November and runs until January 2011.

Matthew's work Kriegsverluste 1 is a finalist in the 2010 Metro Art Award. The exhibition will run from July 25th until August 15th at Metro Gallery, Melbourne.

The show Drawing Room Luminaries, opened last night at the Libby Edwards Gallery in Melbourne. The exhibition will be up until the 2nd of May.

Matthew is back in Australia putting the final touches on his exhibition Drawing Room Luminaries, a series of paintings inspired by time spent in the Alte Nationalgalerie in Berlin.

Matthew is currently preparing work for a solo exhibition at Libby Edwards Galleries in Melbourne scheduled for the 15th of April. Matthew is travelling back to Australia to be present at the opening.

Penny Bradfield took some photographs of the opening of Sleep, Rumour and Vice at Galerie Kollaborativ in Prenzlauerberg, Berlin. Many thanks to curator Jon Adrie Hoekstra and the rest of the team at Kollaborativ. The show will be up until the new year.

On the 27th of November a show of MFC’s Berlin works entitled, Sleep Rumour and Vice will be opening at Galerie Kollaborativ in Prenzlauerberg, Berlin. The paintings, which are derived from Ovid’s Metamorphoses, will be accompanied by a series of electronic musical works created by Caroline Cheyne. The evolving compositions reflect the sleep cycle and the chaotic paths of rumour and vice.

MFC's work Penelope has been included in Nam Bang! a public exhibition at Casula Powerhouse, Sydney, dealing with the aftermath of the Viet Nam war. Penelope was chosen as a fitting symbol of the domestic impact of the war.
